Maruti, Tata And Skoda Foray Into MUV Market
MUVs are an ideal choice for those who need to travel in groups. MUVs segment stands between the hatchback cars and premium Sports Utility Vehicle. The advantage of MUV is its features like SUV but easy to handle like cars.
Toyota Innova, the leading MUV in the Indian market is known for its higher utility and lower cost of operations. Mahindra Xylo is another top selling MUV. This segment has witnessed a growth of 41% to 1.5 lakh vehicles making a 10% share in country's total passenger vehicle market during 2009. Tata Aria, which will be launched this year, may have a ready market as both Toyota and M&M are struggling to meet the demand for Innova and Xylo. And as the competition increases, the buyers can have better products with good value for money.
Tata Aria can have the initial advantage over Innova which claims 3 months waiting period and Xylo which claims for 2 months waiting period. Aria is longer than both Innova and Xylo, making more room for flexible seating position to accomodate 7 adults and can also offer ample luggage space.
