Tata Motors Sets Sales Chart Afire By Recording 49% Growth!

Indian auto giant, Tata Motors sold 67,730 vehicles in June 2010 which is 49.05% more than 45,440 units sold in June 2009. Sales of Tata Motors's passenger cars witnessed a big 63.22% sales rise. Tata Motors sold 27,811 cars in June 2010 whereas it sold only 17,039 cars in June 2009. Tata Motors has overtaken Hyundai Motors by selling 445 cars more, thanks to the Nano cars produced from the Sanand plant, which has helped the company in clearing the backlog deliveries of the world's cheapest car, Nano.

Looking at the cummulative sales, Tata Motors sold 7,704 Nano cars, 9036 Indica cars, 7,502 Indigo family cars, 3602 units of Sumo and Safari SUVs. This June's sales recorded 113% up in Indigo cars, a 12% down in Indica cars and 9% up in SUVs(Sumo and Safari) when compared against the sales in June 2009 in the respective segments. Tata Indica family includes the new Indica Vista and Indigo Manza is the latest addition to Indigo's family of cars.

Being India's largest commercial vehicle maker, Tata Motors witnessed an impressive 32.52% growth as it sold 34,791 units in June 2010 as against 26,254 units in June 2009. LCV ranges of Tata vehicles which include Ace, the mini truck also saw a growth of 21% as 19,652 vehicles were sold in June 2010 and the growth continues in the medium and heavy commercial vehicles as 15,139 units were sold constituting a growth of 52% in June 2010 as against the sales in June 2009.
