Tata Nano Sales Decline Drastically

By By: Vicky.in

The unexpected fall in the sale of Nano, the world cheapest car, has taken Tata to surprise and the result is meeting the vendors for devising a strategy. In November the sale of Nano was 509 units much against 9000 units sold in July. Under the proposal, Tata would brief the vendors of components about the gravity of the situation.

They will be apprised of the necessities for revised supply methods in coming days. Tata wants to increase the production number from 175 units a day at present. What took Tata by surprise was the car which derived a mammoth response at the beginning forcing the company to go for lot system for priority, has met with such an accident in its sales. After overcoming the Singpur land dispute in West Bengal, Tata could shift its base to Sanand, where the production of Tata Nano has commenced well. In addition, recently Tata opened direct sales counter for the customers without waiting for the lot system.

Still the retail sale of Nano has disappointed both Tata and the dealers. Tata had targeted the delivery of 20000-25000 units a month from its facilities. But the slow pace in Sanand facility has resulted in keeping the components idle and the vendors are in a jeopardy over the sale of Nano. Another major reason that affected the sale of Nano - fall by 85% in November -has been the recent fire incidents in the car"s electric supply system.
