Nano Customers Offered For A Safety Check
The company had earlier appointed an expert panel to review the cause of such incidents and much to its relief it was found that fire incident was not a manufacturing flaw. The latest offer is an optional one and is made as a precautionary step for the Nano owners, said Tata Motors. It insisted that despite the clearance certificate from the expert panel, the company wants to provide some additional safety move, said its MD for India Operations.
The announcement of this safety check came coinciding the occasion of the display of Nano to the US President Barrack Obama and his wife Michelle during their recent visit to New Delhi. The MD made it clear that the gesture is to make the robust trait of Nano among the customers. He said that there will be a tool for protecting the car, a converter or catalytic converter, from any kind of fire and the fuse in electric circuits will be thoroughly checked before delivery.
All the 70,000 Nano owners will be offered this drive as an optional one, he added. The move comes in the wake of the consecutive 6th incident of fire occurred to Nano in New Delhi, much to the company"s surprise that made the car absolutely trouble free. The earlier five fire incidents took place in Mumbai, Lucknow, Delhi and Vadodara.
