Tata Nano to cost more ranging from Rs.5000 - Rs. 15000 for the new buyers
One of the company's spokesperson, there has not been any official announcement so far regarding the price hike of the world's cheapest car. The company may officially announce the prices before August.
Tata Nano is produced at the rate of 150 cars per day which means a total of 4500 in the Sanand, and the same capacity of cars is produced in the Pantnagar plant.
With the target of 1200 cars per day in Sanand from December, during the last few months, Nano cars were delivered in large numbers to the 1,00,000 customers who have booked last year. So far, till May, more than 33000 Nano cars have been handed over to its buyers. Due to increasing price of steel and rubber, in order to sustain the production and supply a minimum 20% of price hike will give life to the project's viability and profitability in the long run.
Its inevitable for customers who are willing to buy Nano to pay a price that will be atleast 10% more than the announced prices last year. Also, Bosch and other parts suppliers have taken up the assignment from a strategic perspective in order to face the challenges for supplying components to low cost cars like Tata Nano. Both the manufacturer and the auto components supplier will reap profit only if they can adopt more economical methods in their operations for producing low cost cars.
