Tata Nano Inspires Tvs Motors
Now the news of Tata Nano is that it has inspired an entirely different segment, the two wheeler maker TVS Motors. The bike maker is devising its tool of strategy to come out with bikes at the lowest price to target the rural customers across the country, said its Chairman and MD. He said Tata Nano inspired TVS Motors to explore the possibilities of offering the low priced bikes in India.
Till now TVS motors has been offering its lowest priced bike TVS Star Sport for Rs 32000 and the search is on for still lower end products. To grab more customers, TVS is aiming to adapt to the global designs and innovative technologies to feed its product platform. Nearly 600 engineers are pressed into the design of the low priced editions so as to infuse the global technology at ease. The move comes after Sundaram Clayton, the holding company of TVS Motor, got Lakshmi Venu (daughter of Mr Venu) as the director-strategy.
By making these plans the company aims at reaching the set target of 17% market share in the two wheeler sector(from the existing 15%). The sale target stands at Rs10000 crore in another two years and it is Rs 6000 crore for this fiscal.
