Now you can drive Tata Nano as soon as you book it starting from August 2010

Tata Motors must be very happy with the Nano cars produced in Sanand Plant, Gujarat helping the company to clear the pending deliveries to the first one lakh customers in a fast phase. Already more than 35000 Nano cars are running in India.
The Base variant of Tata Nano, which costs approximately 1.5 lakh on road, and can be driven home from August ; in just 2 days after booking it. Dealer in Delhi commented that the base variant is very easily available that one could book Nano today and drive it home tomorrow but its not the case with the CX and LX variants as it will take a longer time to deliver these cars but that is just 15-20 days.
Now, to those of you who wonder how the Tata Motors is managing the deliveries of Nano cars for its first 1 lakh customers along with the regular bookings, one of the dealer has said that Tata Motors have "management quota" where the procedure is to write an application to Tata Motors and it will be registered for booking.
The first 1 lakh customers who were selected based on a lottery system are getting their Nano cars delivered as per the schedule informed to them, and that too with the same price as quoted to them last year. Sanand Plant in Gujarat could be termed the mother plant of Tata Nano as the factory produces 2.5 lakh units per annum and has a capacity to increase its production up to 3.5 lakh and later 5 lakh per annum based on the needs.
