Tata Safari To Be Globally Transformed
The European Union has stipulated this EuroNCAP as a safety rating system and many car makers get the due recognition for their products, as evidenced in the recent Paris Auto Show. Tata is designing this new Safari with traction control vehicle stability system; multi-airbag allied with new aerodynamic body. However, there are some skeptic remark over the lack of monocoque chassis found commonly in any premier SUV.
Some others express the speculation that this new Safari may come out in X2 platform much akin to the recent Aria from Tata. The company"s Head for Utility vehicles said that the existing step-ladder chassis is suited for the rugged roads of India. He clarified that the monocoque frame is already in the company"s new vehicles such as Indigo Manza and Indica Vista.
He added that the new Safari will carry the necessary features fit to be worth a global SUV. It is known that Tata will stuff this new Safari with technological features available in Land Rover SUV. He said that the current Safari will continue run its show similar to the Sumo to Sumo Grande.
The overall growth of utility vehicles during the first half of the 2010-11 fiscal was 21 percent at 1.54 lakh units.
