Tata Motors Pushes Hyundai To Third Place
Maruti Suzuki leads in the sales charts selling 72,812 cars in June 2010. 17.28% sales increase is less for Maruti, but generally sales of cars reduce during the onset of monsoon season. Tata Motors sales witnessed 63% and Hyundai sales witnessed 19%.
According to experts, Tata Motors have more chances in retaining the second place in passenger car sales, as in the further months, Nano will be sold in good numbers and will add a significant number to the company's overall sales. Other than these firms, Ford and GM are the other two companies enjoying good sales growth recently. Thanks to GM's Beat fueling the sales, while Ford's FIGO continues selling in great numbers. Toyota saw a jump in volumes up by 41.5% in June 2010 and Mercedes Benz, the German luxury car maker saw a whooping 94% growth. Toyota has resumed the booking of its SUV Fortuner from July 2010, this will boost the total sales of the Japanese giant in the forthcoming months.
India's largest SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra and Japanese giant Honda aren't under the limelight as the number of vehicles sold by the company were less. Among the two wheelers, Hero Honda is continuing to remain in the No.1 position selling 4.26 lakh units at a growth of 17% and TVS volumes were up by 33% and sold 1.39 lakh units.
