Skoda Plans For The Next Three Years

Skoda is now planning to launch a sedan next year with a price range between Rs. 6 - 10 lakh. Skoda's sedan, which is to be launched next year, will share technologies with Volkswagen's latest sedan Vento. Skoda will produce its sedan in Chakan's plant.
Skoda India's Board Member and Director (Sales and Marketing) Thomas Kuehl mentioned that Skoda had announced to roll out one new model every year and as part of this strategy, Skoda will enter the volume segment and will launch a small car in early 2012.
Skoda's small car work has kick started already and as per the Indian market, the company will launch both petrol and diesel variants. When Skoda's new car arrives in our car market, it must face tough challenge from big players like Maruti, Hyundai and Tata as well as the recent entrants like Ford's Figo, General Motors' Beat and Volkswagen's Polo which will all be established products in the next two years. Skoda hopes that the new small car will increase its sales volumes by 3 folds in next three years.
Skoda will launch a face-lifted Fabia in both petrol and diesel variants within the next few months, and the price will be a crucial factor so as to be more competitive than the slightly higher priced Fabia that exists now ( Rs. 6 - 7.84 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi).
So, Skoda has revealed all its plans for the next three years: refrubished Fabia and Yeti for 2010, Sedan for 2011 and small car for 2012.
