Shahaan Engineer In Formula Kart Stars Final
Incidentally Shahaan happens to be the first Indian to win this slot. Presently living in Dubai, this little guy done his racing training since two years under 2005 World Karting Champion and GP3 driver Oliver Oakes. Sahaan was duly acknowledged by his mentor for this performance.
Oakes said that Sahaan could not get any pre hand experience of driving in Ellough, as his competitors had a good time for at least 48 hours prior to the event.
Oakes added that the event is Shahaan"s 3rd competition in Britain which has become a remarkable one. At the starting moments, Shahaan maintained the 8th position( arrived at average points basis) and consequently finished 7th and 8th slots in different heats. Then sensed the trouble in continuing at the right hand turn and changed the heat after being hit which took him down in further placing.
Incidentally he faced hassles by way of marbles in tyres which needed replacement and after clearing the hurdles, there was no looking back for him till attaining the 6th slot. He took people watching the event into stunning with his performance and his spirit seems to indicate that he will be a crucial force in the next year"s event.
To his credit, he has got the placing in FKS event which happened to be an unfamiliar track, this July where he clinched the third slot.
In the feature race, he got the 5th slot by effecting the most sensational drive of the weekend, as quoted by a commentator. Shahaan himself was more enthusiastic and emphatic about the event as he described is fantastic. He said he could learn a lot from the participated drivers especially his team boss Johnny Macdonald and the mechanic Kris Baillie who exhibited the real professionalism. Sahaan was too ephemeral to declare that Oakes had been the best driver coach to have. Shahaan had to contend with top 3 drivers derived from 57 different countries who happen to be the British. At being 14, Shahaan became the youngest Indian to test a Formula Renault 2.0 this March.
Oakes has some different perception of Shahaan"s presence as he has decided to continue the training for one more year till Formula Renault UK series scheduled for 2011.
