The CEO of Avis India complimented the coming together of these two companies and expressed his happiness over the pact. The motive behind this move is to impart an awareness among the adventure drivers and holiday drives. He said the company has installed an exclusive website in this regard. Under the scheme, Avis India Self Drive Himalayan & Desert Expedition will provide self-drive facility on Ford Endeavor automatic transmission and the fare will be Rs 2,500 a day.
He disclosed that the facilities included SEO, Lift doors, e-marketing features, and outdoor branding. In addition there will be Parking Romp in DLF buildings and DLF Gurgaon; there will be Wall Panels and Scrollers too. The cars will be fitted with GPS and baby seats at pay and use method. The drivers are provided with medical kits and driver guides to make the drive easy and hassle free. Above all there is an insurance coverage and the driver will be covered under rent-a-cab license. There is a proposal to take this plan to other major cities like Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi. The enthusiasm is echoed by the VP for sale in Ford India who remarked that the tie-up with Avis is a very good opportunity to assess the off-road capability of the vehicles and dynamism of Ford Endeavor.
Both the companies said that there has always been a need to go off from the routine affairs during the weekends. The self-drive concept is an apt one to kill the time and the domestic offer is a boon to such people, they said. By this scheme, people will have the free access to drive on their own to such regions.
