Renault Announces Its First Sedan And Premium SUV.
French car maker Renault ,would launch its first sedan -- Influence -- in India by 2011, a top company official said on Wednesday. Renault India, the French auto giant is all geared up to launch its luxury sedan, Influence by 2011 in our country. Renault's Koleos, the premium SUV will be launched in 2012 -2013. This information was said by the Managing Director of Renault India as well as the Deputy Managing Director of Renault-Nissan Automobile India, Mr. Marc Nassif.
Nassif, mentioned that as of now, Nissan Micra will have 60% of local parts and the company wants to achieve 80% localization of parts. Nassif also suggested that the country must solve all the infrastructure issues for increasing auto components supply to other countries. CII organized a two day seminar named as 'AUTOSCM 2010' on automobile supply chain Industry and Nassif took part in the panel discussion on India as a global hub of automobiles and components.
According to Global Logistics company, DHL's CEO, Christop Remund, in the forthcoming years, the automobile industry's real growth is expected from the Middle Eastern, Asian and Latin American markets. Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium representative Sven De Wachter, said the supply chain industry must be recognized by Indians. Expressing praises over the Indian government's endeavor to draft a policy for the automobile industry, he mentioned that the policy must be drafted at a faster pace. He also said that India's domestic market is driving the country's robust economy and this is the vital reason for the the country, not getting affected by the global financial crisis.
