There has been report that the company may finalize the location sometime this month and an official announcement may come next month. The options before the company are in Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh by which it may invest Rs5900 crore for erecting its plant.

In the event of entering into either of these two states, the company will be able avail incentives from the respective government. As per this, the Tamilnadu government will offer easy interest rates for loans, tax incentives from VAT, guranteed human resource and deportation facilities from ports. The government sources claimed that the officials of both sides are in series of negotiations including Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Similar offers are being extended by the Andhra Pradesh government too and the officials have made rounds of talks with that officials too. The AP government has identified two sites for the company"s need in Nellore and Chittoor including feasibility from the nearest port Krishnapuram. According to the AP government officials, the car maker is in need of 800-1000 acres of land at an investment of Rs6000 crore. However, a final decision will be made by Peugeot during the mid-January of 2011. The state of Tamilnadu has become a good dearth for Hyundai, GM, Ford, BMW, Daimler-Benz and Renault-Nissan. This has made the state as an ideal hub for the global car makers with huge investment.

The Tamilnadu government officials quote the incentives on VAT upto 12.5% is a boost to the auto maker. The betterment in terms of offers has to come from AP government, since Tamilnadu government has been extending all the possible facilities to the auto makers.
