Nissan Launches Micra
Nissan Motors India today launched the 'Micra' in New Delhi, thereby marking its entrance into the small car segment. Bookings had been opened on 25 May and the response was pretty encouraging for the company. On July 14th, Nissan Motors India launched the Nissan Micra, small car in New Delhi. This is a very important move by the Japanese company, as it is now stepping into the over crowded small car market of the booming auto industry. Nissan Micra's booking commenced on May 25th 2010 and Nissan received more than 1500 bookings so far.
Nissan has also revealed the prices of its Micra. Micra will have three trim levels namely the Micra XE, Micra XL and Micra XV. Nissan Micra XE costs Rs. 3.98 lakhs, XL costs Rs. 4.69 lakhs and XV costs Rs. 5.29 lakhs. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom prices, Delhi. Micra is powered by a 1.2 L petrol engine and peak power is 75 bhp. Micra has unique features like Start - Stop technology, key-less entry, tilt adjustable steering. Driver Airbag is standard for all variants.
Nissan's aggressive pricing for Micra is because it's able to achieve more than 85% of localization for Micra's components. Nissan Micra, although looks like a retro design, still has lot of funky elements both on the exterior as well as in interior design. Micra has lot of elements to attract the young buyers. Nissan will deliver the car soon after this launch.
