Nissan's 'Micra' Diesel Launch In Dec'2010
There are 8-valves, 4 cylinder to engross the power output at 47Kw @4000 rpm yielding the torque of 160Nm @ 2000rpm; there is a 5-speed manual gearbox for desired acceleration for city driving. The company"s MD and CEO said that the launch of Diesel Micra has been mooted by the instant success of the petrol version within six months in the Indian domestic market. He further said that Micra diesel will stand out among the clumsy hatchbacks in India by being the right product for the right time. The car will exhibit its dominance in the segment in the urban mode. He expressed the position that the company is undergoing a crucial phase in the Indian track to be very careful for every step. The booking for Micra diesel is on for the past 20 days through the company"s dealers aided by the comprehensive ad campaigns and propaganda.
The CEO of Hoover India corroborated the views expressed by the CEO& MD of Nissan, adding that the brand ambassador will be Ranbir Kapoor. There will be two variants of diesel Micra - XV and XV premium on griege interiors on 6 colors- Pacific Blue, Brick Red, Blade Silver, Storm White, Sunlight Orange, Onyx Black. After the launch and sale in India Nissan will be marketing the car in South Africa next year.

There is also an arched side window line amidst the standard specification of 3780mm long, 1665mm wide and 1525mm high. The wheel base is 2450mm for wheels at each corner concept; the roof has the grooves. The car is likely to be deemed as the lightese hatchback- 992kg (XV) and 1008 (XV premium) thanks to the design of the company"s Global Production Engineering Centre.
