Nissan just released the blueprint of the proposed new Sedan to be made in India. The car will come off from its Oragadam plant near Chennai under Nissan"s V platform. The company"s MD and CEO said that Nissan is quite pleased with the successful show of its recent launch of Micra and this made the company to devise an exclusive new Sedan model for Indian make.

He expressed the belief that the new Sedan under Nissan"s V platform will satisfy the Indian customers. This new Sedan, he added , will be on display at the 8th China International Automobile Exhibition this December. However, the model will find entry first in China and will follow in India during Q2 of 2011, he said.

The existing facility at Oragadam has a facility under a tie- up with the French car maker Renault with an initial investment of Rs4400 crore stretched for the next 7 years. The sale volume in September 2010 was 1256 units of which Micra alone constituted 1183 units against the last year"s net volume of paltry 57 units. Nissan launched Micra in the domestic market three months ago and the global deal started later.
