Mitsubishi Motors To Launch Small Cars In India

According to Pritam Saikia, India is an emerging market for Mitsubishi, it is too premature to comment on Mitsubishi's future product plans, including the small car. He also added that, all the expansion plans are on track and the company will take a call on our small car plans at a later point of time. Mitsubishi can no longer afford to ignore the small car market of India. The company has realised that it cannot have a strong foot-hold in our country unless it has small cars.
The upper B+ segment cars like Hyundai i20, Maruti Ritz, Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra and Fiat Grande Punto has been in great demands from the buyers. Hence, this is the area likely to attract Mitsubishi. The Japanese car maker has been developing an eco-car for 2012 launch in Thailand. This may be the car which Mitsubishi is looking to customize for India.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation entered into the Indian market in year 1998 making Hindustan Motors as its partner. The Mitsubishi Lancer was the first car launched by this JV in the country. Mitsubishi's Pajero is one of the most trusted SUV in India.
