More Models To Be Launched By Mercedes Benz

According to Sales and Marketing Director, Debashis Mitra, Mercedes is watching various segments and will likely launch new models according to the vacant slots. The company will be launching a luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) and models under performance segment. In the last seven months Mercedes Benz have launched 16 products. He also hopes that the luxury segment will grow by 50 percent as against the standard car segment, which will go by 20 percent. Sales of luxury cars are expected to touch around 13,000 units this year, up from around 8,500 units in 2009.
Mercedes is facing stiff competition from BMW and Audi. BMW has grabbed the No.1 Title in sales from Benz during 2009, but its mainly because, Benz's most preferred model E class, was absent, otherwise, it would have contributed to nearly 40 percent of Benz's total sales.
During the first six months the company has sold 1023 units of E Class. Sales of other models are - C Class 995 units, S Class 266 units, M Class 93 units, GL 47 units and others 25 units. With the E class model available now, the sales chart will be ticking for Benz this time, with no lag.
