Mercedes Benz Enters City Bus Segment
Mercedes Benz has set up an exclusive assembly line to manufacture low floor buses, most probably with Air Condition.
According to Wilfried Albur, the MD of Benz India, announced that their 2 and 3 axle buses have gained good reception and hence they would like to expand their business in city bus segment.
Mercedes Benz is expecting to sell 500 units per year and its expected growth is 20 percent per year.
The assembly line which Mercedes has set up will produce buses equaling the requirements of city commuting as well as the company will parallely provide 2 and 3 axle buses for inter-city, long journey compatible buses.
Finally, Volvo luxury buses have got a very potential rival, Mercedes Benz!
