Mercedes Benz To Launch Buses In 2011

Mercedes-Benz is scheduling its launch of buses during the second half of the FY 2011 and will be from its Chakan facility, said its MD for India. He added that the facility will be capable of making 500 city buses per year and a trial of city buses is already on in Bangalore.

Till last month, the company"s sale of two-axle and multi-axle coach is 64. He expressed the hope that the city bus and passenger bus segment has a consistent growth of 20 percent every year. Mercedes-Benz occupies 22 percent in luxury bus segment.
