7-seater R-Class MUV From Mercedes

Mercedes Benz has come out with its new 7-seater R class car at the price of R 58.79 lakh. The car is fitted with a V6 petrol engine of 3498cc making it the 18th such version from Mercedes. This will be one among the world class R segment from Mercedes in the Indian car market, which happens to be the fitting market. This R-class will be made to run on Long Wheel Base R350 4 MATIC, with features like bi-xenon headlamps, Airmatic self-leveling air suspension in the rear for comfort and dynamics, steel spring suspension.

The company"s Director for sales and marketing said that the sale may peak to 80 percent this year with the sale volume being 4200 units in this calendar year so far. There is a proposal to import this as CBU to fill in the niche space in luxury segment, which is growing at 50 percent out of the potential 1200 units. The cars will be routed through the 14 new showrooms, and will have the back up of 4 service centers; in addition the company has opened 6 re-used car outlets as Proven Exclusivity.

Mercedes claims that the new R-class will display all new features that are to be unique in this segment with new personality cult. This car will portray the combination of style and performance by having standard front fog lamps, 18 inch alloy wheels, multi-element headlamps, dual chrome exhaust tips and LED tail lamps. The car has a V6 3.5 lit engine possessing R350 4 MATIC with 272bhp of 6000 rpm and 350nm/ torque at 2400 - 5000 rpm. This additional power source will give the increase in speed at 230km / hr top speed, 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. The R350 4 MATIC corresponds to the technique of 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

This R class will have splendid features inside in addition to more space; there will be an electric sunroof for appeal and quality, an enlarged luggage annex, an audio system having an in-dash- 6 disc CD /VCD changer, 8 inch screen for the benefit of rear passengers, a DVD player, wireless speakers. Also available are the leather packed interiors of tilt and telescopic steering wheel, three zone automatic climate controls, high gloss wood trims.

For safety there is a pre-safe which prevents accidents by pre-hinting with the help of sensors, there is a Brake Assist and Electronic Stability Program. The front seat belts are capable of tightening as the reversible electronic tensions enact this and enable the front passengers with easy movements. If skidding occurs, then the pre -safe let the sunroof and side windows open for the passengers to come out safely. The CEO said the customers will be assisted with the financial arrangements through Daimler Finance till Mercedes itself starts its Non banking finance company. There are plans to add more models to C-class, E-class and S-class cars which are assembled in India.
