Mercedes Benz acheives 79% sales in the first half of 2010
India's well known luxury brand, Mercedes Benz sold 2,402 cars during Jan-June 2010 as against 1342 cars during the same period last years.
79 percent growth is thus obtained by the German car maker which sold 3250 cars in the entire 2009.
According to Wilfried Aulbur, Mercedes-Benz Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer informed that 1,056 E-Class cars were sold which is a massive 137 percent.
He also informed that India is still low in luxury car penetration in comparison to Russia and China. But the company sees remarkable growth potential in India, as the growth of Benz during the 2005-2009 was 40%. Mercedes Benz is also involved in commercial vehicles segment and will offer low-floor city buses for the country from 2011.
