Maruti SX4 Turbo Diesel From 2011
In addition the diesel version of rIII MPV is slated for 2012 while the much awaited luxury sedan Kizashi is expected to be rolled down in 2011 as CBU import piece. The MD of Maruti said that depending upon the demand for the car, the Indian assembly would be pressed into service in its Gurgaon facility. The Maruti Suzuki India is a company in which Suzuki holds 54.2% and the company"s annual capacity is 8.5 lakh units from its Gurgaon facility whereas its Manesar plant delivers 3.5 lakh annual units taking the tally to 12 lakh annual units. There will be two more new facilities within Manesar plant at an investment of Rs3625 crore to yield 2.5 lakh annual units.
The CEO and MD said this will ease the capacity constraints as there will be 10 lakh annual units each in Gurgaon and Manesar plants. Sensing the increase in the demand for its vehicles, the company has already taken measures by increasing the output by 1.2 lakh monthly units from this October which will make the net capacity to 13 lakh units for the period 2011-12, he added.
