Maruti Alto, Eeco, Estilo, Wagon R And Sx4 In CNG Version
Maruti will launch CNG variant of Alto, Estilo, Wagon R, Eeco and Sx4. According to MSI Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava, the CNG models will be very important inMaruti's portfolio. Maruti Suzuki is the first company to come out with factory-fitted CNG cars and Maruti will have the first mover's advantage in the market.
Maruti will launch all the five CNG cars on a single day in the second week of August because there is no particular segment for CNG cars unlike other models, which can be specified into different strata and this is a launch of ' factory fitted CNG' technology and not cars. Besides the launch of five CNG versions, Maruti will launch Alto K10, a new variant of Alto with 998 cc K series engine.
Maruti is expecting a 25% boost in sales, once the new Alto K10 is rolled out into market. Maruti will sell the Alto K10, along with the existing Alto powered by the 800 cc engine.
The existing Alto is priced between Rs 2.29 lakh and Rs 2.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Estilo starts at Rs 3.20 lakh and goes up to Rs 4.10 lakh. So, Maruti is planning to fix the price range between the Alto and Estilo ranges. This will help the customer to choose a car according to his/her budget. AltoK1's mileage of 20.2 kilometer per litre as per Automotive Research Association of India standards is another advantage for the buyers.
Fuel prices hike has caused a major change in the buying strategy of buyers. The better the fuel efficiency of the car, the better will it attract the customers. Hence, the only way to woo the buyers is to provide more fuel efficient cars and alternate fuel cars like CNG and LPG. Maruti is making the right move to increase its market share and also in help acheiving a cleaner environment.
