Maruti will launch Alto K Series in August
Maruti will launch Alto K10 in two variants, the Lxi and the Vxi that will be priced between Rs. 2.8 lakh to Rs. 3.4 lakh range.
Maruti will be facing stiff competition from Tata and Hyundai in the near future as both these rivals are readying their new cars for B segment. Hyundai"s 800 cc car is steadily progressing and Tata is also planning to launch a car between its Nano and Indica, hopefully its R&D work may already have commenced by this time.
The new car models like Nano( priced below Rs. 2 lakh), Figo, Beat (starting from Rs. 3.5 lakh) have missed the Alto segment . Alto Lxi shares 70 percent of its total out of the nearly 25000 units sold every month.
Maruti Alto has its closest rivals, the Hyundai Santro and the Chevrolet Spark, but still, due to Maruti Alto"s neat looks, practical design, low maintenance cost, better mileage and Maruti"s reliable service, people prefer Maruti Alto than the other cars.
Auto experts feel that, since Hyundai and Tata"s upcoming cars will boast for more features and better mileage, Maruti is left to no other option, but to quickly come up with better products with a competitive price tags.
The new Alto K10, will sell along with the existing Alto and their total sales will definitely boost the company"s little dints, created by the rival car makers recently. The hatchback segment constitutes more than 70 percent of the total car sales in India. With the introduction of Alto K 10, the competition is heating up and the people have more choices to select in buying small cars.
