Maruti Kizashi To Be Launched In India

Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of the new model, Suzuki Kizashi in India, by 2011. Already introduced in the US market, this new model is scheduled to be unveiled at the Auto Expo' 2010.

It will be a big move for the company, considering the car maker has not been successful in the luxury car segment.

The mid-sized car model is equipped with front wheel drive and is powered with a 2.4 litre engine that meets the Euro 4 emission norms. The available transmissions are a 6 speed manual or a CVT. The CVT version reduces power to 180hp. It is available in 6 gear manual and an automatic option.

Maruti, which was not known for its luxury , now wants to succeed in the luxury segment of the fast growing Indian automobile market. Though the company's luxury like Baleno and SX4 have not seen much of success, Kizashi is expected to compete with Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda and Toyota Corolla.

As of now the Japanese car maker Honda dominates the luxury car market in India, with its best selling products like Honda City and Honda Civic.

Maruti Kizashi is expected to be in the 10-13 lakhs price bracket. The car is expected to roll out from Maruti"s Manesar factory.
