Maruti And Hyundai Pre-festive Sale

The car market in India is witnessing a rewarding posture for two of its premier car makers Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. The month of October preceded the peak festive season but the companies posted a very good growth. Maruti and Hyundai sale records has been the best in their sale history. Maruti got the sale volume of 1,18,908 units in this October making a rise of 39.21% from its sale in October 2009 (85415 units). Maruti"s previous best remained in this September with the sale of 108006 units. The sale of cars in October 2010 is Maruti"s fifth occasion in this fiscal to reach one lakh monthly units. The company"s ever best domestic sale volume is 107555 units making a rise by 50% from the ones in October 2009 (71551 units).

Maruti Suzuki faced a fall in its export market by 18.11% during the assessed period - with 11353 units against 13864 units of October 2009. in domestic market the company tasted the defeat of its once hot cake, M800 as it saw a fall by 15.78% with the sale of 2631 units this October against 3124 units in October 2009. however, Maruti has got some solace from its A2 segment cars like WagonR, Estilo, A-Star, Ritz and Swift- the combination which saw a growth of 50.67% with 77502 units from 51437 units of October 2009. the condition in A3 segment too was good with a rise of 32% from 11621 units this October against 8804 units in October 2009.

Maruti witnessed a massive net volume of its passenger cars in this October as 91754units against 63365 units in 2009. the net sale volume in the first 7 months of this FY is 715886 units again 558332 units in the corresponding period of 2009, making a rise of 28.22%. Whereas Hyundai secured a sale of 34725 units in Indian market which happens to be the ever best for it since 12 years. Further this has become Hyundai"s 4th consecutive stint of securing 50000 units of cumulative monthly units.

The sale volume of Hyundai in October 2010 was 52225 units which was 51735 units in the corresponding month of 2009 making a rise of 0.9%. Hyundai"s domestic sale volume is 34725 units against 28301 units of October 2009. the volume in its export market faced a fall by 25.3% with 17500 units in this October from 23434 units of October 2009. The company"s Director for Sales and Marketing attributed the rise to the upswing in the market and the launch of Next Gen i10 in addition to the new i10"s sale growth (26%). He said the company received the due recognition for its innovative design and the latest technology.

Hyundai switched to this strategy in tune with the change in the domestic market. Hyundai"s A2 sector consisting i10, i20 and Santro, procured a sale of 46399 units while the A3 segment of Accent and Verna got the sale volume of 5730 units. Hyundai"s A5 segment, having Sonata Transform could find only 22 owners while Santa Fe sports car got just 74 buyers.
