Maruti Suzuki Is The Top Car Manufacturer

The proverb which is going like every dog has his day, and now suited for Maruti Suzuki, the top most car manufacturer in the country. The event, in its 25 years of service to the auto industry, is a rare that it could lose 6% of its share to stand at 47%. It was a moment that Maruti Suzuki dominated the car market by selling one out of every two cars sold but the entry of Tata Nano in full swing and the game from other global giants like GM,VW, Ford has shook ed the roots of Maruti. It is common to lose market share on occasions preferably due to waiting delays and maintenance schemes. But in Maruti"s case it is a bigger level drop in the last six months. The ever increasing small car segment seeks more brands at quicker time and Maruti is well aware of this and this situation may come to any manufacturer in future, said an industry expert. Tata"s venture with its Nano is no surprise because the strategy was devised to penetrate the market gradually.

With Nano selling smoothly, Tata"s share goes up to 14.8% followed by Ford and GM in this small car segment. The small car market is too willing to enfold any number of players since it is growing at steadfast. But Maruti still believes that its share will not be affected as it has some cars which have waiting period of 4-6 months. The company is making all out for efforts to clear the delay, by installing more facilities and increased production. Maruti has planned to normalize its production capacity to 2 lakhs in another two years. The Chairman of the apex Suzuki said that Maruti shall maintain its lead with 50% + market share in India. But the competition is high in the field which has collected prime rivalry from the big shot like Toyota"s Etios and Nissan"s Micra. Will Maruti show its might?
