Mahindra Vehicles To Cost More By Rs8000
From 1st October 2010, the vehicles from Mahindra & Mahindra will be costlier by Rs8000, said the company, quoting the increase in raw materials and the adherence to the BS III norms. Depending upon the model, the cost rise will be in the range of Rs3000- Rs8000 according to an official statement from the company. The move comes after a reasonable delay in effecting the price rise as the cost of raw materials has become the driving force for this rise, said the company"s Chief Executive for Automotive division. M&M is not the only company to increase the price, as Tata Motors is on the plan to announce its rise in price quoting the input costs on materials like tyres and steel.
Hyundai has already made the rise by 1.2 percent Maruti Suzuki too could not resist this higher input cost and is forced to implement the price rise for its models barring the fast moving Alto. Maruti has effected an increase of Rs7500 maximum.
