Mahindra Recorded 28.96 Percent Increase In Sales

Mahindra&Mahindra (M&M) has reported a significant 28.96 percent sales increase in its total volume of sales, during August 2010. M&M sold 28,903 units last month, when compared to 22,413 units sold during August 2009.

The total number of vehicles which includes, Scorpio, Xylo, Bolero and Pick-up stood at 12,994 units in August 2010 while it sold only 11,443 units in the year ago period. This constitutes 13.55 percent growth. In the domestic market, Mahindra's vehicle sales witnessed a 27.33 percent increase to 27,275 units in August 2010 as against 21,410 units in the same period last year. In the overseas market, Mahindra's exports have boosted the sales volume to 1,228 units during August 2010, which is 88.06 percent jump as against 653 units sold in August 2009.

Mahindra's Logan sedan has boosted the sales of Mahindra. Last year, during August, only 469 units of Logan car was sold. But, this year, Mahindra sold 801 units that leads to a 70.79 percent increase.

In the commercial vehicle segment, Mahidra's Gio and Maxximo have contributed to 38.94 percent sales growth to 5,074 units last month, as against 3,652 units during August 2009. Mahindra's heavy vehicles, Mahindra Navistar Automotive have sold 873 units last month, which is a 32.67 percent increase as against 658 units sold in August 2009.
