The passenger vehicle facility from the top most auto giant M&M is sketched in the lands of Tamilnadu, according to an official statement from the government side. Once this materialized with necessary investment by M&M, said the government source, the net car volume from all the manufacturers will come around 1.4 million per year, adding almost 10,000 units to the current volume.

However, no elaborate details could be derived from the official who disclosed these information. Questions over the project"s investment and the propriety of the company are not discussed by him except that the company has acquired 400 acres land now and the further acquisition on the cards.

The move comes after M&M" s earlier stance to install a tractor unit in Tamilnadu and is a follow up to the Tamilnadu government"s offer of incentives to automobile projects worth Rs 4,000 crore for a minimum duration of 7 years in the state.
