Mahindra May Launch A Face-lifted Bolero

Mahindra Bolero, the utility vehicle is reaching its 10th anniversary, since its launch in 2001. Bolero has been a preferred vehicle in tier II and tier III towns. Bolero was relaunched in 2007 and in 2008, it got an additional CRDe variant. Bolero's demand continues to surge and Mahindra is planning to re-launch this vehicle and also a capacity expansion in the Chakan plant in order to meet the growing demand.

Vivek Nayer, senior vice-president of marketing, automotive sector, said that the Bolero"s re-launch done by the company in 2007 attached an aspirational imagery to the brand post which it has been showing consistent growth for the auto major in the country. He added that Bolero has out-performed the category and increased its market share from 19 to 29 per cent since 2006-07 and about 75-80 per cent of the sales volumes are from smaller towns and the remaining 20-25 per cent from metros.

Under Mahindra Bolero's hood lies a 2500 cc 4 cylinder diesel engines that churn out a peak power of 72.5 bhp. The robust chassi, rugged look and utilitarian values make Bolero, a distinct product in Indian market. We can expect the new Bolero in the coming months.
