Volkswagen Group Achieves Sales Beyond Expectation
According to Mr. Joerg Mueller, the Group"s Chief Representative in India, Volkswagen Group's current delivery figures are overwhelming and in-line with their plans that proves the car brands are present in the right market with the right products at the right time.
Mr. Mueller added that the Volkswagen Group is certain about meeting its targets and expect to double our sales in 2010. Keeping in mind Volkswagen's growth strategy, the Group has also significantly increased its dealer base in India, which is currently 130 dealerships.
The production of Volkswagen"s Vento, the latest offering from the Volkswagen Group in India, has already started. The Vento will further enhance Volkswagen"s presence in the Indian market.
On comparing the sales figures, between Jan-July 2010 and Jan-July 2009, we find that, Audi sold 1,626 units in 2010 as against 957 units and the growth is 69 percent. Skoda sold 11,120 units as against 7,213 units which means a growth of 54.2 percent. Volkswagen has sold 8,587 units which is a whooping growth increase of 476.7 percent. Hence, totally 21,333 units were sold in 2010 as against 9,664 units in 2009 and the growth is 120.7 percent.
