Honda Brio Launch In India At 5 Lakhs

Honda Brio is all set for official launch in India priced at Rs5 lakhs. Honda Brio will be dealt with by the dealers handling the company"s two wheelers across the country. Though Honda Brio is targeted for Thailand and Indian markets, the operational features will suit the local demands, said the company"s CEO and President. After the formal launch, the mass production will be carried out in Thailand from March 2011, he added, mentioning the Indian launch before the end of 2011. With 80% localization move, the company has devised the strategy to sell the car through the JV with the local partner Siel in India. All major components and marketing needs will be associated with the local dealer for the company"s two wheelers he remarked.

He said the design of Honda Brio and other products from Honda is to provide better product range at a feasible price tag. It is to be seen whether there will be two versions of this Brio, as mentioned by the company initially. Honda Brio facility at Greater Noida has the installed capacity of 1 lakh annual units and the second facility in Rajasthan at an investment of Rs1200 crore is on the process. This facility will be erected to deliver 60000 annual units.

The subsidiary company in India HMSI is in operation for its two wheelers with the facilities situated in Haryana and the second plant to be completed in Rajasthan. Soon the third facility will also come off. The company is a partner with Hero Motors in Hero Honda having 26% stake
