GM celebrates its 7th Anniversary in India

Knowing the importance Indians give to Gold, Chevrolet has began a Mega Gold Rush scheme for its car buyers. All one has to do is buy a particular Chevrolet car and they will get gold coins. Chevrolet will entertain its customers through events like gala evenings and movie specials. Visit a Chevrolet showroom and you have got surprises there too. GM's Beat it car will be in popular malls of various cities and entertainments around the car will be hosted.
According to Mr P Balendran, Vice-President, GM India, the company has come a long way in the country and provides best in class products to its largely spread consumers through a wide network of dealers and service centres. This approach has led to the good brand image among the public.
Chevrolet had been in top of the sales chart consistently for the past 3 to 4 months, thanks to its new hot hatchback Chevrolet Beat which is selling consistenty inspite of stiff competition from other market leading hatchback cars. Also, its small car Spark has been a key car in spreading the brand across various regions of the country.
Chevrolet has introduced 24X7 on road service and its "Cost of Ownership" programme was unique and helps people trust the American Car Brand. GM also has a centralised 24X7 call centre to attend the customer complaints and provide information regarding its cars and new services. GM also offers 3 years warranty and free maintenance to its selective cars.
GM India is also economic conscious in India because it is involved in providing an electric car by next year for our country. Also, it has JV with SAIC, a chineese car manufacturer who has got 55% of stakes in GM India. Therefore, in the near future, we can expect GM to bring in Tavera like SUV and passenger cars which will strengthen GM's portfolio. Currently GM or Chevrolet sells Spark, Beat, Aveo, Aveo-UVA, Optra, Captiva and Tavera.
India had been a good business domain for GM as India's robust economic policies have not affected the buying potential of Indians and hence the car business flourishes in spite of recession in the world.
