General Motors receives Safety Award for its Halol plant from the government of Gujarat.

The Gujarat government is taking all efforts to see a fine placement in the industrial growth as it has already laid the red carpet to Tata Motors for manufacturing its Nano cars. The state is pleasing more such companies and General Motors is one such to have received a warmth of the Gujarat government.
General Motors has now plucked the state"s Safety award for the consecutive third time in commemoration of its contribution to the safety aspects in its Halol plant.

The plant has secured this award on the basis of merits like the 'Winner Rotating Shield' and Achievement of lowest D.I.I (Disability Injury Index). The company"s VP said that these awards define the best safety measures initiated by the company which is likely to motivate them for implementing more such moves. He added that the company is ever focused on providing accident free work atmosphere and promoting safety awareness at all levels of its plant activities.

This award is yet another to General Motors since more such awards have been coveted by the company in its presence in the Indian car market. The awards include the Three Leaves award from Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) for green car manufacturing plant, Quality Circle award from Gujarat government, Energy Conservation award from the Government of India and National Safety Award instituted by the Government of India.
