The premises of United Auto Workers in Detroit , Michigan was too busy and hectic with more than 100 employees and retired persons gathered to demand more wage from the car maker General Motors. General Motors had plans to launch a new small car by pushing low waged employees into the service. The agitators were offered only half of the salary they receive currently. General Motors is in the meanwhile making its efforts to go for public offering.

General Motors will involve some 1300 persons under low wage category for the proposed new small car manufacture under Chevrolet range - Buick Verano. GM had got the consent of the union for hiring low wage employees for /hour, which the normal employees feel lesser than what they get - per hour. They claim that the Union has the reputation of assisting the company in the post world war II revival. The striking employees criticized the role of Reuther, the yeoman president of the UAW. The Union gave its consent for employing 40% of its members as low wage labor for the proposed new car. On the other hand, General Motors is contemplating to employ only low waged employees fully in the plant.

If the proposal gets shape then the pay structure will be 000 from the existing 000. this is quite contrast to the median household income in the US, which is 000 during 2009. General Motors has just recovered from its financial instability after getting billion from the federal government. From this assistance, the company is on the verge of making a small car for yielding domestic profit. The spokesman of the company said the agreement on low wages is only for the Ohio plant and for the small car which will take up more profit in the US market.
