Ford, GM And Toyota To Increase Car Prices

By By Vicky.in

This is the fourth time if car brands like Ford, GM and Toyota increase their car prices. Owing to the robust growth in sales number and also to ease themselves from the increasing commodity prices, these car firms have decided to raise the prices anywhere between 0.5% to 3%, ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 20,000 (in New Delhi)

According to Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director, marketing, at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the cost pressures from various raw materials as well as currency fluctuations with a stronger Yen and Dollar that makes component sourced from abroad as well as imported cars costlier, forcing Toyota to charge more. Prices of Toyota"s popular utility vehicle Innova will increase by Rs 10,000 and Corolla Altis sedan by 1.5% or Rs 15,000, from next week. Auto makers enjoy a strong growth since 2009 and are passing on the increasing manufacturing costs partly to customers now.
