Fiat India's Engine Sales To Europe
Following the incentive scheme in the European markets, Fiat India saw its sale target of engines falling down. During 2009-10 Fiat happily exported some 35000 units to Europe but as of now the figure could not go beyond 4 digits with just 9000 units only exported.
According to the sources of Fiat, withdrawal scheme in Europe, the company faced a deep hit in its engine exports. Another blow came from the engineers of Europe who protested against such deal. Hence Fiat is on the look out for alternative sources to push its engine across Europe.
Now Fiat joins Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai which too faced such a hit when their cars were deprived of sale due to the withdrawal of incentives for the buyers of small cars of fuel efficiency. Fiat"s Indian partner is Tata and the tie-up is capable of making 3.33 lakh annual units of engines. Tata"s Indica Vista has the power train of Fiat engines. The facility at Ranjangaon has the annual capacity of 1.6 lakh units.
