The good moments of the sale momentum for BMW has done a reaping reward in the luxury car segment. By enjoying good response to its vehicles this year, the company foresees equally potential sale volume in next year too. BMW has seamed along the changing market strategy in the second largest automobile market in the world. BMW"s year long sale history will reveal the volume as 6000 units against 3600 done in 2009 which will make the company to think about the second shift in its Chennai facility.

Till October the company has sold 4741units, according to the President of BMW India, which is a good stride in the short period of existence. He said the company has been receiving feedbacks much ahead than they expected to happen. The Indian car market has become a good dearth for the luxury cars and BMW likes to take advantage of it, he added. As apart of this strategy the company is on the lines of expanding its Chennai facility next year for delivering some new cars.

For BMW the existing situation is akin to what was in China some years ago and there wont be any hesitation to invest in such a potential market.

He expressed the belief that BMW had done good efforts since 2007 in the field of manufacturing and marketing of its vehicles. The low profile expectations and assumptions on the Indian car market needed review among the car makers, especially the global players. The trend is rising upwards, and the luxury car segment has the potential of 15000 annual units which may grow further soon, the company foresees. BMW is aiming to increase the current dealer showrooms from 18 to 22 in 2011 in addition to facilities in major cities across the country.

In all BMW"s portfolio will see the addition of fuel efficient 520 diesel Series sedan at Rs 36.9 lakh in the Indian market some time next week which is equipped with fuel run of 18.5km /lit. Rest of the features on torque, power delivery and driving sensation will remain top. This will be followed by an SUV X1 at Rs 20-25 lakhs which BMW expects will give sleepless moments for the competitive models. The company is sure that this will procure more units of sale purely on cost basis, which is the challenging one as far as BMW"s stature. He further hinted that this will be surpassed by more models which are in the offing for next year.
