Car And Fuel Sales Have Increased By 1.8 Percent

According to Government data, India's annual domestic oil product sales increased by 1.8 percent to 12 million tonnes in June 2010. This is a slower growth when compared to May sales, although the demand for fuels is fast growing. The retail prices of petrol, for which the Indian government had control was ended and the prices of diesel, cooking gas and kerosene saw an increase in the end of June.

The International Energy Agency predicts that the India's fuel demand to increase by 2 percent in 2010 and 3.2 percent in 2011. The expanding economy of the country is increasing the incomes of people thereby giving more buying potential and hence more vehicles are purchased, for instance car's sales have increased by 30 percent. The sales of petrol has increased by 12.7 percent per annum while the sales of diesel has increased by 7.1 percent.
