BAIC To Invade Indian Commercial Vehicle Segment

Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. (BAIC), the Daimler AG's Chinese partner is eyeing on Indian Commercial Vehicle segment. The increasing demand for commercial trucks and buses, as well as the growing business sectors in the commercial vehicles segment has attracted this Chinese company.

BAIC's subsidiary, Beiqi Foton Motor, one of China's major truck makers will start their business in India soon. Developing countries like India and China have lot of opportunities in the vehicles sector. BAIC, as part of its business expansion in foreign countries, is likely to put efforts to open factories through JVs with local partners in countries like Brazil, Russia, Mexico and Thailand.

Indian Govt is gearing up to achieve a economic growth of 8.5 percent in 2010 and this indirectly means the growth of commercial vehicles production and sales, the barometer of any country's economy. India has future plans to invest $1 trillion for the infrastructure development of the country from 2012 to 2017
