Bajaj To Produce Low – Cost Cars
Bajaj will provide a wide product ranges starting from the small car, other than the two-wheelers and three-wheelers. By working out independently, Bajaj will give freedom to its partners as how the project is turning out before making any full-fledged commitments.
Bajaj will spend 5 billion rupees in developing the mini-car and for this project and Bajaj will set up a factory in Pune for manufacturing this car. Bajaj is yet to name the brand of this upcoming small car and it will go on sale from 2012 onwards.
This ensures that the ULC project is going on the right track. Renault and Nissan have confirmed that the new agreement clearly stated that Bajaj will build a vehicle and supply it to the Renault-Nissan alliance to market and distribute. Now, with this development of small car, Bajaj will further strengthen its 4 wheeler products based on the small car.
Bajaj is focusing on bringing up a car for the masses that will require just Rs.5000 as the running cost every month definitely attracting two wheeler buyers. If Bajaj's ULC project will become fruitful, Tata Nano has got a new rival, and it is we people who will get the benefits from the two cheap cars!
