On Tuesday, Bajaj informed that its partnership with Renault-Nissan alliance to make ultra low-cost car (3000 US dollars) is intact and the project is on schedule. While, Tata Nano is going to flood the market soon after August 2010 as the country wide bookings will be open, when 2012 comes, it will have a close rival from this Renault-Nissan-Bajaj ULC project.
India is one of the fast growing small car market in the world and most of the international car companies are keen on making business in the country.
Peugeot, another French company is likely to open its factory and sell its cars. Proton is looking for a JV with Mahindra to introduce its cars too. Our Indian auto industry witnessed 8 new models and 11 facelifts during the first quarter of the fiscal that helped boost sales in June. This obviously shows the increasing competition among the car manufacturers and the economic growth of our country with increasing buying potential among the masses.
