Audi Kick Starts The Assembly Of Q5 In Our Country

Audi, the luxury brand of the Volkswagen group commenced the assembly of the car maker's medium-sized SUV Q5 at the Aurangabad plant. The company aims at manufacturing 1,500 units of Q5 per month. Audi Board Member for Production, Frank Dreves said that the production of Q5 was part of Audi's long-term growth strategy in India.

Audi has produced 2000 cars in India since September 2007 and now Audi is targeting to manufacture 6000 units of its cars per month by 2015. Audi is already manufacturing A6 and A4 models in the country and Q5 is the new enterant to be assembled in the country. The starting of this assembly will bring an overall output of 2400 units of cars in 2010 as against 732 units in 2009. Audi Q5 will require five work-cycles on two assembly lines alongside A4 and A6.
