Audi India's Positive Growth Trajectory Continues
Bangalore - Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has continued its positive growth in 2010 with an impressive growth of 69% in April 2010. Audi, India's countrywide vehicle sales in April this year grew to 189 units as compared to 112 units sold in April 2009.

The Audi model range in India includes the Audi A4, the Audi A6, the Audi A8, the Audi Q5, the Audi Q7, the Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8. Audi India's countrywide vehicle sales for 2009 were 1,658 cars (58 percent growth). Audi produces vehicles in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (Germany), (Hungary), Changchun (China) and Brussels (Belgium). Aurangabad in India saw the start of local production of the Audi A6 at the end of 2007 and of the Audi A4 in early October 2008. The company is active in more than 100 markets worldwide. AUDI wholly owned subsidiaries include AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft., Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. in Santa Agata Bolognese (Italy) and quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. Audi currently employs around 58,000 people worldwide, including 45,500 in Germany. Between 2010 and 2012 the Audi Group is planning to invest around¬ 5.5 billion in order to sustain the company's technological lead embodied in its Vorsprung durch Technika slogan. By 2015, Audi plans to increase the number of models in its portfolio to 42. Audi celebrated its 100th birthday in 2009. The company was founded by August Horch in Zwickau on July 16, 1909; he named it Audi after the Latin translation of his surname.
