Audi Looking Forward to launch A8 And More

The German Luxury car maker, Audi, is aiming for a 30% market share in the luxury car segment of our country. Audi is planning to expand the dealerships up to 18 (currently there are 10 dealerships in India) and launch the top end A8 model by 2010 end. Audi has enjoyed around 24% of market share as it sold 15,000-20,000 units of cars.

According to Audi India Head Micheal Perschke, Audi is looking at increasing our market share as well as focusing on profitability and by 2011, the car maker targets around 30% share in the Indian market. He added that Audi expects a huge growth coming from the metros as well as Tier II cities.

Audi is hoping to sell 1000 cars in the remaining months of this year and so far, it has sold around 1,876 cars as against 1,128 cars in September-December period of 2009.

Audi sold 250 cars in August 2010 as against 171 units in an year ago period. This shows a 46% impressive sales growth. Michael Preschke stated that, Audi is planning to increase the distribution network in cities such as Bhubaneswar and Patna in the Easter region. He added that Audi is hoping for a 45% growth next year and plans to open showrooms in Surat, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Indore and Coimbatore.
