Ashok Leyland Registers 56 Percent Sales Growth

One of India's largest commercial vehicle maker, Ashok Leyland, has reported an impressive 56.35 percent of sales increase as it sold 7,480 units in August 2010 as against 4,784 units sold in August 2009.

Among the total sales, domestic sales of Ashok Leyland stood at 6,705 units as against 4,233 units in the year-ago period. This is a 58.40 percent surge in sales. Ashok Leyland exports has increased by 40.65 percent to 775 units in August 2010 when compared to 551 units during the same month last year. Ashok Leyland, recently bagged a contract from Sri Lankan Govt, for buses. Hence, in the coming months, the export will increase.
