Ashok leyland Grabs Order For Buses To SriLanka!

Ashok Leyland, one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer grips Rs 120 crore order from the People's Leasing Company in Sri Lanka. The order is for 1000 Viking model buses, which has a seating capacity of 42-58 seaters. Ashok Lelyand will start selling the buses from now on and the deadline is March 2011. All the buses will be sold by the People's Leasing Company to Sri Lanka's private sphere and the consecrate is being part-funded by the Asian Development Bank.

According to Ashok Leyland's Managing Director R Seshasayee, the company has constituted playing a critical role in aiding build up the Sri Lanka's economic system not only by delivering advantageous transport solutions but also by furnishing employment for the local public. Ashok Leyland already has a JV with the Sri Lanka Govt, termed as the Lanka Ashok Leyland and it was formed in 1983. Ashok Leyland continues to be the leader in Sri Lanka's bus market as it sold more than 8000 buses during the past six years.
